What is GODDING?
Godding is telling a person “You’re God” in order to short circuit the false dichotomy created by the dialogue with God which causes people to see it as an external force, rather than an internal system for communication with the shadow, with what’s not known of the self or what’s been repressed.
The concept of God and its usage is different for everyone, but here I refer to when one talks to themselves and says “I want to know what I should do next,” and a voice says to them, “Maybe you should _______”. For some, this is never identified as God, however, for many especially in a primarily monotheistic culture this internal dialogue is assisted by the identification of the inner 2nd person as God. God here is a compressed, monovocal form of the multiplicity of unconscious, which often through imaginary/inner work is revealed to be made of a number of entities which have different needs. Some of the more common form of these entities are covered in Jung’s work on archetypes. When I say to someone “You’re God,” ideally while looking them in the eyes, I’m looking to cause the idea of the separateness of God’s being to be understood as false. I can’t be sure this will happen, and so it’s quite a chaotic move, one that I’ll be continuing to understand as I go into the streets and tell different people they’re God, Christians and Atheists, etc. I’m going to handle it a little less mysteriously as time goes on, the first few times I simply walked up to a stranger, said “You’re God,” and walked away. One man, standing outside of a liquor store called out desperately to me as I walked away, “What do you mean?” A worker in the McDonald’s drive-thru laughed and I drove away. As I go through each encounter using these words, I’ll write more and begin to ask more about its effects on the person spoken to, as well as myself, asking them about their background in religion and prayer. I’ll also be experimenting in the future with telling people “You are a Word.”
Peace, or whatever you want,
Bernard

Interesting to note that people don’t understand fiction as magic. A piece of fiction is a spell. I hear people expressing their understanding (or parroting other’s understanding) of fiction as “transportive” but you must all secretly know that it isn’t true. It’s not you who is transported….

Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at the moment.
